Ontario Health President and CEO, Matthew Anderson has released A Measured Approach to Planning for Surgeries and Procedures During the COVID-19 Pandemic.

In April 2020, Ontario Health convened a group of experts to form the COVID-19 Response: Surgical andProcedural Planning Committee, chaired by Dr. Chris Simpson, to develop recommendations about how scheduled surgeries and procedures can be safely resumed to meet the needs of patients whose surgical and procedural care may have been delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In this document, the Committee presents recommendations on how regions and hospitals can collaborate to do this in a measured way. Although the scope of these recommendations focuses on surgical and procedural activity, we acknowledge that there are other non-emergent activities that were ramped down and will also require a measured approach to resumption of services.
